[PLUG-AV] Report from last night's workshop

Hi,

Further to the text overlay stuff, I have taken a look and it is
relatively simple to also include an SVG image overlay.

Jason, do you have the plug logo in SVG format ?

Please send me a copy - if there is no SVG then the biggest bitmap
version available will do, and I'll trace and svg copy.

I'll also want to install gstreamer on AV2 at some point.

I'm working with version 0.10.35 from GIT, but the install is quite
tricky and needs loads of extra libraries, so I'd rather we just loaded
the apt-get version, and I'll make my text plugin compatible with that.

The svg overlay plugin is already part of the distribution.

When installing the gstreamer, we will need the following packages

gstreamer
gst-plugin-base
gst-plugin-good
gst-plugin-ugly
gst-plugin-bad
gst-ffmpeg

With these tools we can redo all our image processing so the stream to
ICE and the conversion to a downloadable file can all be done using
gstreamer.

I've put the graphics card in my laptop bag so hopefully I won't forget
it next time we get together.

Regards,

Euan
