Might the USB terminal on phone idea help for all the Pis in the systems ? 
Immediate access without any other setup. I have some tools as part of a TI 
USB dev kit I was playing with. I will see how hard it is to make this work on 
the Pi.

My cheap and cheerful $2.04 USB audio adapter arrived this morning. Audio In 
seems low noise. Yet to test microphone port. Another thing to throw in the 
grab bag of situation recovery gadgets.
