Heyo, <div><br></div><div>For those who dont know, I am currently chairman at the Artifactory, we can probably put you up for talks. We are currently working on a proposal to put to LotteryWest to get our presentation setup going (We host talks from artists etc interested in tech as well that have been quite popular).</div>

I spoke to the Community centre in the middle of Perth as well -
right at the train station/Northbridge Arts complex. They have
bandwidth in one room, are $13 for the first hour, and then $27 for
the rest of the day, but only have availability for Thursday and
Friday evenings. (What would really top it off is if we could get
storage on site for A/V and other purposes. A small cupboard or
something. Hm.)<br>

Naturally with PLUGs minor finances, I am thinking $0. We have $2.2k
in the bank; we've burnt through $1.5 k in the last 4 months (this
Av project, Quiz Night, PO Box being the main features), and our
projected annual income from membership is only $400 - that's
$33/month income we can afford to spend absolute max. Given our
meetings are typically an hour before hand for Av set up and ctte
meeting, then 1+ hours of meeting, we'd be over 2 hours - so $25 -
$35 @ 3 hours = $75 - $105 per month, or $900 - $1260 per year. <br>

From what I have read, we'd need a fixed line, reliable delivery for
the stream to the Icecast server, from what everyone has said in
forums; however, a trail of a 3G wireless may be prove otherwise, if
anyone has one to test tomorrow?? The volume of data may be a

Potentially being CBD based if we're having to pay money would be
better (if it is a similar rate). There's something about being
_Perth_ LUG that makes me feel we should be in the CBD - at the

True. However, we have grown in numbers attending since we have
started moving the venue around; from October to December we were
around 3 - 5 people at each meeting. We're now looking around 17 or
so for your talk at UCC, Harry. Of course, some of that may have to
do with your warm personality brining people in. :) (*rotfl*)<br>

Some people have said to me that they HAVE come along because we
were somewhere new/more accessible, but I don't think we've lost
people by doing so. <br>

I think that as soon as we're looking at community centres, they are
all charged, even for non profits (through at a reduced rate). If we
have to pay, and the rates are comparable, my personal preference
would be for the city centre - putting the "Perth" back into PLUG!<div class="im"><br>
