Hey Daniel,

I probably myself can't, but you're welcome to take the gear and
play with it. It's currently all at my place (in preparation for
this Tuesday at IBM). Tim, Jason, anyone else on AV list want to
help out? Ideally you need two people - one running dvswitch and
ensuring the stream is going out OK, and the second operating one
camera (it's OK if one camera is a static wide shot, but you
probably want to have one video source correctly
framed/zoomed/focused). If you have three people then both cameras
can be coordinated to be interesting.

Perhaps you have an Artifactory bod who may want to come to the PLUG
meeting on Tuesday to check it out? I'm planning on getting AV kit
to IBM set up from 5pm; be great if others can meet me there at that
time. I'm on site at IBM tomorrow afternoon to check out the venue
for any issues (and perhaps beg for ongoing venue access????)

You can get away with just one person potentially but then you'd really be limited to just a single camera and hope nothing goes wrong! I recorded a talk using DV camera and laptop with the PLUG wireless mic, it was all good except the audio since I didn't verify the levels and initially forgot to plug it in so instead was using the camera mic which was very noisy.

For one person you really want it as simple as possible such as just dumping the raw video to disk. Audio came via the FW stream (either camera mic or wireless mic when plugged into camera). After I did the minimal amount of editing and uploaded to vimeo.

I'd love to attend and help out but I'm stretched too thin atm, sorry.

Jason Nicholls

jason@mindsocket.com.au
0430 314 857
