Carl's suggestion of the Lenovo T400 series is good except the
current T420 has an optional FW connector as AFAIK none of the
models on offer in Australia have it. However it does have
USB3 + ExpressCard - starting at just over $1050. However, the
15" model - the T520 - seems to have FW as standard and it
starts from $1200.<br>

I just spoke to Lenovo and they directed me to the 420S with USB3
and ExpressCard at $1499! I dont know if new stuff is categorically
shipping with USB3 - there's still plenty new models coming out with
only USB 2.<br>

I'm looking at the T520 Essential at $1199.00 and dont see firewire
on-board. Comparing the T Series only the 420s is listed as having
USB3:<br>

I think we're going to have to accept Firewire over expresscard as I
don't see any current models with it built in.<br>
