Hi all,

Just to reiterate our conversation on Friday, we ordered some stuff
from Amazon (I later rejected the purchase of the video splitter as
the postage was 5 times the price of the product from that
particular reseller), we spoke about moving quickly on more of the
units such as the wireless mic and 4th PC. I have the quote for the
PC with non-profit discount applied, and this is awaiting
confirmation from the PLUG exec committee for the funds to go to
Dell.

We also said we weren't sure about the JTX wireless stuff; we do
appreciate that the wireless stuff probably needs to be purchased in
Australia due to RF channels and licensing. I've spoken to Kosmic
again today about the Shure rage (they are a listed Shure reseller).

We had our original quote with two presenter mics, and one
wireless handheld, plus the 2 x boundaries, 1 x mixing desk, and XLR
cables total $2,111. We've purchased the boundaries, XLR snake and
mixing desk for around $480, so effectively we have $1630 to play
with. In order to stay on budget, I'm proposing we drop this to one
of each.

For the speaker each week, we're looking at:
* One Shure SLX (L4 freq) Instrument pack - $600
* One Countryman Head-mounted mic - $525

For the audience mic:
* One Shure SLX (L4 freq) receiver and SM58: $680

The reason for the first one being the "instrument pack" is that its
the cheapest option for a receiver + body pack (the "instrument
pack" part of it is a jack to mini XLR lead - which we just
substitute for the head-mounted Countryman mic). The above total is
$1,805, exceeding our immediate purchase ability for both items: but
we could do one - possibly the presenter mic + wireless pack, and
have it for the next meeting (they have stock on hand).

(See http://countryman.com/store/product.asp?id=92&catid=2 for
the mic with a video showing how to fit it)

Can I get a few *nods* from people here that we should proceed like
this - with the presenter wireless headset and mic now for $1,125 -
or some input with alternate suggestions/recommendations?
