Make sure the reply-to field does not point to the mailing list.


My experience with the linux-parport mailing list is that by removing the 
reply-to field from pointing to the mailing list MOST replies go back to 
the originator.

People then have to conciously add the mailing list to the CC list when
replying. The linux-parport list has 434 mail addresses (as of this 
morning) and averages around 5 requests a day for help with no more that 2 
replies per original request.

PS:
I notice someone disabled the "who <list>" feature of majordomo. Some 
people forget this little security hole (like linux-parport, I have just 
emailed the admin person to shut down this feature on their list)
