To follow up on the replies from Greg, Mike, Tony, John (great
name - shows your parents have/had taste) and Leon:

OK, here goes nothing

I have the gateway set to my linux box on my 95 machines. I have
the DNS set right. (According to the howto, it should be set to the
DNS used in resolv.conf).

ipfwadm -F -l -n gives:

IP firewall forward rules, default policy: deny
type	prot	source destination ports
acc/m	all 192.168.0.0/24 0.0.0.0/0 n/a
acc/m	all 192.168.1.0/24 0.0.0.0/0 n/a

IP Forwarding is on. cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4 returns
1
and the right line is set to yes in /etc/sysconfig/network.
