The problem with this is timing... what happens when the 10 minute 
timing of the cron job happens 1 minute after disconnection... the cron
job restarts the ppp connection and the ISP says nope sorry you didn't 
wait long enough... which wastes a phone call... now as long as you
don't mind wasting the phone call no problem... :)
