Dave,

A Mac Classic has a 68000 and no MMU; the
minimum requirements to run the 68k port
of Linux is a 68020 with an MMU, or a 68030.

A Classic II has a 68030 AFAIK so that should
run the 68k Linux port.

MkLinux only runs on Macs with a PowerPC CPU,
not a 68k series CPU.
