I rarely post to this list (although  I am the one that owns the comment
about "yer adduser script is rooted" [said on IRC])


Anyhow, I  got a  pressie in  the post  today. A  huge box  from Oracle.
Inside was my free copy of Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition .


Anyone want to lend me the hardware so i can test run it?

It needs at  least 128meg preferably 256, and although  it does not come
with a client,  I do have software  that can act as a  client (thank the
Gods for PHP3).

I think I am suppose to test it and tell them how it runs and my general
opinion of  it. So  far the  documentation is  rather nice,  if somewhat
chaotic  (it is  too easy  to  let lost  in HTML/Hypertext  installation
documents). Only gripe is that since I don't have JRE installed yet, the
installer wont run.
