[plug] Samba V Win98

I am running Samba on my linux box and Win98 on my other machines, and my
network installs seem to work absolutely fine, with no hassles.

If I remember aright, there is a kernel compile option to compile in a
workaround for machines running Win95/98 to talk to linux SMB volumes and
vice-versa, as 95 and 98 (98 in particular) both do strange things with SMB,

Cheers,

John

Does anyone know of any issues between Win98 and Samba ( besides the
password encryption thing). I have two pc's networked with a
crossover
cable, one running RH6 with the latest build of Samba and the other
running win98, I am installing an accounting program as a network
installation but the setup program is failing towards the end, ie:
	becomes very slow then stops.
The thing is when I run the Winders machine with win95 there is no
problem I can install the same prog and it runs without a hitch.
Just for the exercise I ran both machines with win98 and the install
was
perfect, so I am thinking that either win98 and Samba are not
compatible or I have not set Samba up correctly.
	Any suggestions would be appreciated.

	Grant
