[plug] APM daemon

Hi all.

I have loaded Redhat 6.0 on a machine that is a little tight for disk
space and accordingly left out what I believed was not essential in the
installation.

During the boot up sequence I get a "FAILED"  message in respect of the
APM daemon. Unfortunately I would would not know the said eveil spirit
from the neighbour's house cat. The system nevertheless seems to
function normally despite the missing daemon. Can anyone enlighten me as
to where this device is located in the installation options, and what
it's purpose is.
