For a discussion of one group's experience with TWIG vs IMP try

Both TWIG and IMP are IMAP based, unlike AtDot. Having had a brief
encounter with both IMP and AtDot (both of which I think are pretty sweet)
I think AtDot is probably the more versatile and (for someone like me who
has limited PHP) has a more easilly tarted up user interface. I have no
experience of TWIG however, and can offer no useful comparative comment.
