[plug] RH6 shutdown problem

We have RH6 installed on two boxes.

One is a Cyrix 6x86 based system with 32MB RAM. It boots and shuts down okay.

The other is an AMD K6-2 300 based system, with 64MB RAM, and it crashes after
shutting down. It gets to "System halted", then produces a screen of error
text, with, a few lines from the top, an error indicating a kernel paging fault.
The text includes the contents of the registers, further down the screen.
Apparently this happens every time the system is shutdown from the RH6 operating
system.

Firstly, is it possible to somehow extract the text that is displayed, as the
text being displayed, is displayed after the "System halted" message? We figure
that, if the text can somehow be saved to a file, then it can be transmitted for
diagnosis. The logical problem is, apart from how the error appears to be
generated, and displayed, after the system has shutdown, how can we save the
output to a file after the system has shutdown?

Secondly, does anyone have any idea what is happening?

And, despite the differences in politics between Christian and me, and, despite
the allegations by someone else on this list, of Christian basing some of his
advice on heresy (?), I respect his technical advice.
