[plug] PPP Problem

Has anyone had experience using eql to bind two dial-up connections
together?
I have created two ppp connections on my LINUX host to connect to my ISP
who uses SliRP to support ppp on dial-up.
I have two modems & two phone lines.
My first ppp connection establishes itself & I can get out to the
Internet.
When the second connection comes up the following occurs. Taken from
/var/log/messages - & the modem hangs up.
Reading the PPP-HOWTO it says that if LCP times out add
"lcp-max-configure 30" to your ppp options. I did this & it only extends
the time between the penultimate and final lines of the log.
The Slirp manual, section 10, talks about load balancing. I followed the
instructions, recompiled the program after altering the MAX_INTERFACES &
MAX_PPP_INTERFACES lines. I created the .slirprc .slirprc-1 and
.slirprc-0 files and put them in the appropriate places. The log below
indicates that the second ppp connection ppp1 has connected as unit 1
which is correct.
Any ideas out there?
