Yes they are supported, well at least the 2940U2W is not sure about the
other one but I think it is as well, when they are
mentioned in the supported hardware section of the kernel doco they are
referenced by their chipset rather than their model because the chipsets
are also used in other OEM products such as motherbaords. They go under
the name of AIC-7xxx in the case of the 2940 / 39xx series. I think the
U2W uses the AIC-7888 chip, although I'm not sure.
