[plug] Process memory usage

Just a quick question:

neptune:~# ps aux | egrep 'ishopper|PID'
USER PID %CPU %MEM SIZE RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
ishopper 26680 0.0 1.1 1136 360 4 S 15:13 0:00 /bin/sh -c
/usr/local
ishopper 26683 0.0 1.2 1136 396 4 S 15:13 0:00 sh
/usr/local/objectn
ishopper 26684 0.1 6.8 19996 2116 4 S 15:13 0:01
/logs/java/bin/../bin

Does this mean that the third process there is using up 20 megabytes of
RAM?

Ok, so I know that is what it means - from the manual page - but it seems
rather odd since the vendor of this program suggests that it should only
require about 4 megabytes of RAM (running under Solaris/NT) so I'm
starting to suspect that this means that the JDK 1.1.7 for Linux (which
I'm using - the application is Java-based) is the culprit... anyone know a
way of cutting down this usage?

On a related matter, does anyone know what the status is for Java 1.2 on
Linux? Is Sun doing an official port or will the Java-Linux Porting
Project be doing something again?

Regards,

Christian.
