[plug] Getting sound to work

On my machine, the knob on the back of the sound card was actually turned down.  I'll experiment tonight with setting volume from inside x.  (got an NT box here at work)

Thanks for your reply. No need to be embarassed, the volume was in fact
turned right dowm. (Rick blushes) Funny you know, when I'm in x, I can trun
the volume down, but not up???? I have to go to a shell to reset the volume???

I still can't get the CD to run, when I log in as a user. Do I have to set
