More on the censorware issue...
Following links from Slashdot takes me to
http://www.censorware.org/reports/bess/
which describes a farcical webfilter that apparently is endorsed for our
schools - "6000 public and Catholic schools"
It's the usual rubbish - doesn't block hardcoresex.com, does block all
sorts of innocuous pages - which you probably don't want to read if you've
seen such an expose before, but what caught my eye was that aceonline was
blocked. There might be some people on this list who'd be interested in
following that up.
