Actually, Checkbot for Linux gives the same error sometimes.

The server says that everything's okay (thus a Success) but an error
occurs nonetheless. Something like that, anyway. Essentially, it's not
an MS-Windows specific thing.

I suspect both Lynx and Netscape report it a bit less confusingly.
