How programmers approach an elephant hunt.
Pascal Programmers will go to Capetown and draw a nice picture of a dead
elephant thereby learning the basic concept of elephant killing.
Windows Programmers will attempt to kill an elephant but will be defeated by
a blue-screen-of-death at a critical moment which leads to them being
trampled to death by an angry elephant.
C Programmers will spend hours figuring out how to kill an elephant in one
line.
Ada programmers nuke the entire African continent and wait for the dead
elephants to come out on exception handlers
COBOL programmers will bore the elephant to death.
Visual Basic Programmers will kill an elephant by pointing a mouse at an
elephant, double-clicking and then coding a kill routine. This subsequently
allows the user to kill an elephant by pressing a button on the elephants
head.
Unix Administrators will set up a cron job to periodically run a perl script
that checks the system for elephants and kills them, thereby freeing up the
Administrator to go back to their normal occupation of berrating Microsoft.
Assembler programmers will search the entire African Continent at the speed
of light and will leap on any Elephants they find and kill them with their
bare hands.
Microsoft Programmers will figure out a really user-friendly way of killing
elephants that will consume the entire resource base of the third world in
the process. They will also set up contractural agreements with any and all
elephant suppliers to ensure that they only offer their method of elephant
killing to customers. The method will also inexplicably cause a
blue-screen-of-death at the critical moment of elephant killing usually
leading to the customer being trampled to death by an angry elephant.
