Did anyone else spot the "virus-warning" on page 5 of yesterday's West?
The "Strunkenwhite virus" was reported by the West as more insidious than
the Chernobyl virus. This "virus", named after a guide to good writing,
apparently returns emails that contain spelling or grammatical errors. The
article reports that the "virus" is difficult to detect as it is disguised
in the text of an email with the subject "Congratulations on your pay
rise". The "virus" is also reported to have left several government email
systems in disarray.
Sheesh and we have trouble spotting sarcasm or a tongue planted in the
cheek on a reasonably tech/net-savvy list...
This little piece of satire needed to carry a public health warning or at
least a signature from B.G.Gruff.
