Never had a problem. Tilde, spaces, 8-bit luvverly Microsoft "improved"
quotes the lot, all work "jess fahn."

However, if you're trying to download from sites like
mirror.aarnet.edu.au, and your machine is either not properly
reverse-DNSable or not in a .au domain, you _must_ use HTTP because the
FTP server refuses you. Try just stripping the leading /pub from the URI
and changing ftp: to http: and see what happens.

Are you the same Brett Busby who argues with all of the lecturers at
Mudrock?
