Hi Paul,

We are interested in MySQL too.

According to the MySQL manual page 2 TcX wrote MySQL to 
handle "very large databases and order of magnitude faster than 
any database vendor could offer us."

Again according to the manual, TcX have been operating 40 
databases containing 10,000 tables, 500 of which have more than 7 
million rows. The whole lot contains more than 100gbytes of info.

On PostgreSQL.  According to one contributor to a discussion 
group, PostgreSQL is a good database, but more resource hungry 
than MySQL.

I have not used either database personally - if you would like to

Micheal is most helpful (he wrote mySQL).

If you come across anyone local who is experienced in scripting 
front ends for mySQL I'd be pleased to know how to contact them.
