I think my card is faster on linux than win (tnt2 vanta ) $100
but from my experience win loves 3d games linux doesn't.
wait till you see how slow Quake3 is.

Further some articles i have read recently say the same 
"if your into games stick to win"<- not sure of origin but it is recent.
Might have been a peice on the newest geforce
