If you set up a Linux box as dialup-gateway with either just squid running
on it, or with IP masqueraring if they also want to be able to do other
things, the linux box will act as a Firewall in the sense that nobody on
the outside can talk directly to the computers on the inside.

It is then up to you to ensure the Linux box is as secure as possible,
