[plug] two questions

hiya pluggers,  I'm having problems logging into my RH6.2 box via the GUI
interface. Switching to a virtual terminal and logging in works fine. BTW
this only seems to effect my user account, root works fine. This is annoying
the hell out of me as it means that I have to be root to use X. I could log
in as user then startx but I cant remember how to start a second X session.
Any Ideas?? Why would RH's GUI be any different to the virtual terminal log
in?
