Yes, I can ping both addresses fine, but I can't
connect anywhere else.

The ifconfig output on both machines is the same,
except for their respective ip addresses: (can't cut
and paste, so here's a summary)

ipaddress = 192.168.0.[35]  (3 works, 5 doesn't)
broadcast = 192.168.0.255
mask = 255.255.255.0
