Thanks for your suggestions guys, but it turns out we
were all wrong.

I finally fixed it (thanks go to grover and grem on
#linuxaus). Turns out I had to set the BIOS to legacy
mode (it's an ISA card) in order to specify the
addresses using the card jumpers. I had done the
jumper part, but completely forgotten about the BIOS
end.
