Hey

For your internet connection, you could set up your connection as ppp0 in
linuxconf. Then just run "ifup ppp0" to connect it and "ifdown ppp0" to
disconnect. It shouldn't be too hard to put these into a cron script.

Can't really help with the proxy though...

Jason :)

Subject: [plug] Proxy server setup - Saturday

I need someone who is a gun on RH6.2 to help me set up a proxy server for a
school tomorrow. The last one I set up was Debian and this is quite
different.

I've got the machine running with a modem and a network card. X is
installed, and linuxconf. I'm not sure what method to use to make and break
the dialup connection (I've set up wvdial but it doesn't hangup) and I need
probably to set up cron to make use of the school's 12-hour ISP contract.

If you've a half-hour to spare, reply off-list & I'll arrange a phone
number. (physical presence is probably not a goer)

K.
