...along with front and side views? No. (-:

Kids In Perth - The Parents Paper DEC2000/JAN2001 - front page, no less:

``Jeremy Malcolm from iLaw.com.au, a Perth lawyer who specialises in
technology law...''

Suddenly, the reason for Jeremy's deep webcam knowledge surfaces: he's
commenting here on kindercam.com.au, a system to provide secure webcam
access to parents of child-care children.

Jeremy defuses an amazing number of concerns very smoothly and
economically (either he's a really good lawyer or has had endless
practice on this theme, possibly both). But here's a couple that he may
have missed:

* I don't see it pointed out that while the links between cams, website
and browser may be secure, parents visiting with a Windows machine may
well be relaying their kiddy's picture back out again through
BackOrifice or another remote administration tool.

* A webcam steadily chews through the bytes, and a couple of concerned
parents in a workplace may unknowingly raise thousands of $$$ a month in
data charges. (-:

I can see how parents would love this one, and I expect the business to
be a raging success, but I have to ask why parents who have time to gawp
at a webcam long enough to catch an ``important moment'' in their
child's life (``03 Jan 2001: Louise first acts up for TV camera'') don't
have time to care for the child directly and so be there for all of the
important moments.

Good to see Jeremy attracting fame, if not furtune. (-:
