Hi all, 
	I find Brett's comment on Mandrake getting away from its rehat
roots interesting, means that choosing it for compatibility reasons may no
longer apply, and if it causes too much grief they may lose the audience
they have built up.  will try a clean install and see if that helps,
otherwise its back to redhat so i can actually use the machine
constructively instead of wasting hours trying to get it back to where it
was before!
