Can you please clarify something?

On the web page at http://www.mostang.com/sane/man/sane-hp.5.html , is
stated
"Any  HP  scanners  connected  to the parallel port are not supported."

I currently have a Scanjet 5200C, which I connect to the parallel port,
when I use it (either that or the printer is connected; the printer will
not piggy-back), and I understand that the HP scanners use an inbuilt
SCSI interface, or something, but connect either through parallel or USB
interfaces.
