If they only want a few Windows apps, try running them under WINE. If
they want Office document interchange, try StarOffice 5.2 (but you want
at least 64M of RAM). If they just want word-processing and spreadsheet,
try Pathetic Writer (love that name) and Gnumeric, which will save Word
and Excel documents respectively, and are much lighter on reasources. In
short, don't run Windows if you can possibly avoid it. After a short
acclimatisation fuss, your support workload fades as if by magic. (-:

Not sure how politic it is to say this, bearing in mind HarvestRoad's
recent interaction with RedHat, but if you use SuSE or Mandrake, you can
set the lappies up with ReiserFS and make them pretty much bulletproof.

What do they need to run under Windows?

Linux will not get in the door by simply mentioning it... it must win
by proving itself superior. We have no marketing department, our sales
department is an FTP server in North Carolina and our programming
department spans seven continents. Am I getting through? -- Signal11
