If the Linux driver supports it, there is a utility to switch this on
(name doesn't come to mind, and they use an obscure term for the
hardware interface so it doesn't come to man -k either and I haven't
time for man -K now). I think some drivers also have option strings
which allow setting the interface but with an NE2000 clone (?) you'd be
pushing your luck.
