Okay, I hadn't realised that bit. I do know that the files in init.d
get called eventually as part of the startup.
However, the answer sort of begs the question: if all I did was a
build and install, why would the rc.d/rc?.d files have been touched?
Surely if samba started before, it should continue to do so now?
If that's what's happened though, it is wierd. I guess then, that
LinuxConf changes these filenames and contents as part of its job
then?
