[plug] StarOffice - is it better at handling embedded line drawings in Office docs?

In particular, does it now import line drawings done within a word document 
correctly? - this was extremely annoying as I often receive technical 
documents using this function (network layouts, flow charts etc), but 
StarOffice 5.1a spreads the individual entities all over the page, even 
within the header in some cases - usually ending up having to use M$word to 
see what they should have looked like.

And is there a local ftp site, particularly with a resume facility for us 
modem users?
