Haven't tested it but it looks like the smartUPS powerchute software has
that capability - battery low condition and shutdown delays are user
adjustable to a certain extent.

Guess this is allowing for some of the "intelligence" to reside with the
admin who knows how long things take to shut down cleanly, and take into
account having some juice left for startups, as opposed to the load
calibrated UPS which can only know how long it's got to live.


On another note, the latest powerchute rpm told me that my SmartUPS 2200
purchased midyear was no longer supported by the software. Going back a
minor version fixed the problem. Weird.
