[plug] modem recommendations?

Hiya Bruce

I would recommend the same Netcomm chipset type modems as Kai has
recommended. My Ntecomm Roadster 56Ultra has worked flawless, and has
travelled with me to the UK and West Africa and still works perfectly fine.
You certainly get what you pay for and I am quite happy with its reliably.

At the time I purchased it Netcomm had an upgrade program running for there
website where you could trade your old one in for a reduced price (even if
it wasn't working). This cut quite a bit of the prioe at the time but I cant
remember how much or weather the deal is still in effect.

Hope that helps

P.S. Works just as well with any Linux distro as with windows
