Dear Phil,

You asked about Quicktime playback for Linux (Mandrake 7.2 
explicitly.)  This URL may be useful even though it is for "generic" Linux, 
not Mandrake specific....

It describes a plugin for Netscape which interfaces with a variety of 
application modules to display various formats of streaming 
audio/video.  Xanim is suggested for Quicktime playback.  Note that I 
haven't used these myself due to impoverished circumstances (read: very 
tiny Linux box.)
