List,
Small dilema here. Took a good working drive from one RH machine to
another. Tried to mount and it spat the dummy about bad inodes or
someting. I thought "I will run e2fsck and fix this ... la la" First
time I ran it it asked about ten questions before I got bored of hitting
"Y" so I re-ran with the -y switch. After about 20 mins (it is a 20Gb
IDE drive) all appeared well.
Mounted the drive and ....nothing!. All my data is lost! Well maybe not
as there are lots of #num files in the lost+found directory. In my
limited knowledge I assume these are inode files.
Question is how do I recover from this. (I didn't follow all the rules,
I don't have a tape - it's a home system so I don't have those
luxeries).
There is some real important data on here, so it is kinda urgent. Can
you please send replies (or at least Cc) to eagleswood at hotmail.com as
this is my work e-mail which I can't access easily from home.
Many, many thanks in advance. Some home brew bottles up for grabs for
the assist ;P
Mike
