[plug] Home Networking

That is what I have at home now, a three node network.
One running Mandrake 7.1 acts as my firewall/ISP connection, one Windoze
NT4.0 workstation for my wife's internet activity, and one Windoze 98 game
machine (only until I can get all my games running with "wine" on my Linux
box, and then I will put two Linux machines on the network).
I bought three PCI 10Mb network cards, and a 4 port hub from a local PC shop
(an 8 port is better if you wish to expand in the future). I put each of
the computers and one printer on the hub (you can leave the printer off the
hub and connect it to the Linux box as a print server if you like). Four
CAT5 10BaseT cables from Radio shack (if you can't build them yourself).
Just read the Linux man/doc files or get the book "Networking by Example" by
QUE (Press & Press) and you will have all the information you need to setup
your home network.
Good luck.
