Well according to this article on Newswire it's true, with Telstra and Cisco
announcing a partnership to not only upgrade the network to comply with the
DOCSIS standard, but also extend the network to Adelaide and Perth.

Current BPA Cable users will be transferred to the new DOCSIS network from
this month, however the project will apparently take some years to complete.
