How could you get meaningful statistics for total users? Not by sales or
downloads.

    I'm looking for the latest statistics for Linux users worldwide.
    Using a popular search engine, the best i could find was
    http://counter.li.org/     Does anyone know of a better source
    for stats specifically on ... ?

Searching "statistics for Linux users" at google.com helps.
