I've installed Mandrake 7.1 and am having some problems.

SOUND CARD.
My sound card is CMI8330/C3D which is installed on the motherboard.
Linux recognises the sound card but I cannot configure it. Windows PlugnPlay
sees it as SB16 Audio Device and has the following settings:
I/O Range 0220-022F
I/R 09
DMA 01
DMA 07

I've tried using Drakconf/Sounddrake 0.6.6 with the following settings:
I/O IRQ DMA8 DMA16/2 MPU401 I/O
220 9 1 7 330
but I get the following error messages when I try to test the soundcard:
Error in modprobe call!
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/ad1848.0: invalid parameter parm_mpu_io
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/ad1848.0: insmod
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/ad1848.0: failed
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/ad1848.0: msmod ad1848 failed

Can anyone please help as to what settings I should use?

MODEM.
I have an Actiontec Diamond Voice 56k external modem which is supposed to be
Linux compatible (it says so on the box)????
Drakconf/Harddrake 0.5.3 shows the following:
Vendor Unknown
Model V90/V.X2/V.34BO/V.34S/V.34/V.32B/FAX Class1/Fax
Class2/MNP5/V.42bis
Device /dev/ttyS1 (It is located on COM2 in Windows)
Bus Type Serial

Using kppp to query the modem returns:
ATI AEIGEX560LKTF1 ERROR
ATI1 E794 ERROR
ATI2 ERROR
ATI3 AEIGEX560LKTF1 ERROR
ATI4 17 ERROR
ATI5 s051399V,0,19 ERROR
ATI6 ERROR
ATI7 ERROR

Can someone please help?

General query - how do you get to the command line prompt (i.e. completely
out of Xwindows) when running an X windows session? I've tried Ctrl, Alt and
Backspace but that only closes down the Xwindow session.

Sorry for the length of this post.
