Another solution you could consider would be to have *one* Windows
machine on your network running FileMaker with its Web server module,
and you could access the FileMaker database over the Web from Linux
clients (or any Web-enabled clients).  Depending on how recent your
version of FileMaker is, the Web interface is not half bad.
