And for the reasons you outline, the conventional news media are very
quickly becoming increasingly irrelevant for many people seeking the type
of information contained in the article. 

The number of people that would actually be swayed by Nick's article is
decreasing day by day as more and more people turn to more personal,
immediate, interactive and relevant sources - like this mailing list -
that don't rely on one unsupported, unsubstantiated and uncontested
opinion. 

Newspapers won't disappear tomorrow, but their influence, the power of
their advertising and their jouno's is headed into a steady decline. 

Good riddance.
