Technically, they weren't sent by iinet; iiNet just forwarded them
through their servers.
Interestingly, the sircam virus extracts email addresses from webpages
in the user's cache, so I would suspect that your email alias is
available somewhere on the web -- perhaps in an archive of a mailing
list like this one).
I would do a quick web search and check to see if it appears anywhere
that has been indexed.

Erm.. if you're not happy with an ISP, just change to a new one.
If you didn't like the way a mechanic serviced your car or you
received bad service at a shop, you certainly wouldn't go back
to the same place next time.

new ISP that you'll be happier with. Then maybe we can all get
back to arguing over whether Debian is better than Redhat :)
