[plug] Linux Installation on Inspiron 7500

I have my partition magic and I am about to embark on a new linux (RH 7.1)
installation on a Dell Inspiron 7500. It has been some time since I have
been on Linux and I am a novice at best. Does anyone have any
recommendations or suggestions on how this installation will differ from a
regular desktop installation. If there is some resources on the internet
that would be worthwhile please show me :)
